the field of psychology
In the field of psychology, there is a notable interest in exploring unconventional ideas and approaches across various subfields. Studies have been conducted on unconventional leadership behaviors (Jaussi & Dionne, 2004), the influence of conspiracy beliefs on political participation (Ardèvol-Abreu et al., 2020), differences in social psychology (Berry, 2001), and the impact of philosophy on psychological research (Furedy, 1989; Furedy, 1988). Additionally, research has shown that integrating multicultural experiences with creativity can enhance creative thinking (Leung et al., 2008; Leung & Chiu, 2010). Psychological research has also examined unconventional computing (Dodig-Crnkovic & Giovagnoli, 2012), unconventional superconductivity (Landaeta et al., 2017; Cao & Zhu, 2018; Matsumoto et al., 2013), the relationship between cognitive psychology and tourism (Scott, 2020), the impact of unconventional fossil fuel extraction on socioeconomic aspects (Moore, 2009), and the role of unconventional intersection designs in transportation (Autey et al., 2012). In terms of research methodologies, psychology has utilized unconventional approaches such as ethnography to monitor the community health implications of unconventional oil and gas developments Perry (2013) and peer review in transdisciplinary discovery (Mäkinen, 2019). The interdisciplinary nature of psychology is evident in studies that connect psychology with fields like economics (Krokida et al., 2020), sociology (Xin-xi & Meng, 2022), and aeronautics (Mistry et al., 2011). This interdisciplinary approach has deepened the understanding of phenomena such as herd behavior (Krokida et al., 2020), personal values in political participation (Pacheco & Owen, 2014), and the impact of internet involvement on political participation (Xin-xi & Meng, 2022). Overall, psychology has demonstrated a willingness to explore unconventional ideas, methodologies, and interdisciplinary connections to advance knowledge and understanding across a wide range of topics.
